The Self-Belief Coach - Tips
There are numerous ways in which you can begin to build up your self belief, some of them more challenging than others. Here are a few simple steps you can take today, right now, that could be useful.
KNOW WHERE YOU'RE STARTING FROM
When you feel low, everything can be quite overwhelming and knowing where to start can seem just as big a problem as everything else. Taking a few minutes to assess where you are can be really helpful and give the first bit of clarity to developing real self belief.
The easiest part is often the negative side because when you feel down it is these negative thoughts that often over-ride everything else. Spend some time listening to your thoughts and write them down. What do you dislike about yourself? your life? work? relationships? what makes you unhappy? Who said something that you can't get out of your head and what was it? This can be quite enlightening as you see these thoughts in black and white in front of you. Don't worry too much about what is there just write everything down that is bothering you.
Once this is done it is time to move on to something more positive, and often more difficult initially. What do you like about yourself? about your looks? your life? work? relationships? - put only positive stuff here! wht are your achievements? what are you proud of? Don't worry if this list is short at first, there is always much more to add and as your self belief grows so will your list.

KNOW WHAT YOU WANT
As obvious as it may sound without knowing what you want how likely are you to get it? Again spending some time thinking is a great excuse for a bit of peace and quiet and can be very productive. What do you want? Who do you want to be? what is your ideal you? Clarifying these thoughts gives you something to aim for. My clients sometimes struggle with this at first as they tell me it all seems so distant and impossible - don't worry just write! describe the perfect you. KNOW WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU
As I've said before the enormity of things when you're really down on youself can seem like the impossible. However once you have clarified your thoughts on paper (or a word document??) you have a starting point. Taking a good look at your list and being completely honest with yourself decide what are the main worries you have and where are the key changes needed. You may be surprised at how much of the negativity can be put aside for now as more of a 'well it wouldn't be so bad if xxxx was better'.
Any good coach will be able to identify with you your core values. Knowing what these are and understanding how they affect you and your life can be really beneficial in many aspects. These are the driving factors of you. They come from within and can affect your comfort ind happiness in many things that you do.
